A New Baby Girl
25 June, 2009, 09:50 am
Things are extremely busy around the office. The Haiti team is doing a great job and has two more days of ministry in Domonde, Haiti.
To follow up on some past news...
Florence and Petroba had their baby on Sunday. A little girl weighing 4.8 Kilos. Her name is Sandra. She had a C-Section. Thank you to all who donated and prayed. They had enough money for the operation with just one dollar to spare! Praise the Lord.
We have also gotten all of the visas that we needed for China. This is a tremendous blessing and miracle. Thanks to all for praying.
I have a week to go before I leave for China with my daughter Michelle. I'd ask you to pray for the general finances for EPI for this trip. We need about $10,000 to come in to our general fund before next Wednesday. In addition, we have 3 of the 16 people scheduled to go on the project who are behind in their support. Please pray for them.
Check out the plogs from Haiti and thanks for your prayers.

EPI Haiti Project Begins
16 June, 2009, 11:09 am
EPI Haiti Project June 18 - 28, 2009
In a few hours John Pullen will be leaving with a team of nine participants from Maine, California, and Tennessee for an extensive project to Haiti. The team will be in a remote interior area camping out without electricity or running water. They will be establishing a new church by conducting medical clinics, film showings, open air evangelism, VBS with kids, and training for pastors.
Due to the location and conditions, the team will not have internet access, but John will have cell phone coverage in some areas. He will be calling back to the EPI office each day with updates, which we will be posting in various ways. Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, we will not be able to get any photos on the sites until the team returns.
So please check out the Haiti Project Plogs on this site as well as Facebook and Twitter.

RLWF = Real Life Wrestling Federation
10 June, 2009, 08:59 am
I feel led to use the blog this week to ask for prayer.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
At this moment we are preparing for projects to Haiti (June 18-28) and China (July 5-21). It has become very clear that some "authorities" are not happy that we are engaging in this activity.
I've been doing this for over 20 years, and there are just some times that Ephesians 6 seems more "real" than others. This is one of those times.
Although I can't go into details in this public forum, I'd ask the believers reading this to pray as God leads you, that these projects would come off unhindered and in accordance with His will.

Real Life in Tanzania...Pay or Die
3 June, 2009, 07:25 am
We recently received some communication from one of our partners in Tanzania. His name is Patroba and he is a church planter on the border of Tanzania and Kenya. Over the years he has become good friends with Rob Brown (EPI Staff). Patroba and his brother Charles were dramatically saved and changed from a life of kidnapping, counterfeiting, and other con games.
Patroba married Florence a few years ago. In 2007, she became pregnant but tragically lost the baby just before her due date. He and Florence were devastated but God saw them through and they continued to serve Him. At the end of last year Florence again became pregnant and is now due to deliver. This time however, the baby is breech and cannot be delivered normally. Doctors have tried to turn it without success. It looks as if it will require a C-Section. The problem is that C-Sections cost money, about $400 by the time you add in travel, food at the hospital, and some other expenses.
Money for the operation is required in advance in his country. They will not do it without payment upfront. It would appear that neither baby nor mom will survive without a C-Section operation.
Folks, I hear stories like this all the time when I'm overseas. I could fill up a book with all of the scenarios I've encountered. While I can't fix all of them, I do believe that God has placed Patroba and Florence with us, so that we can help them from time to time. And this is one of those times.
EPI does not have funds just lying around waiting for situations to come up. We always put to use what people give us immediately for the purpose intended. If you would like to help out with this medical need for one of our church planters, to help save the life of his wife and baby, please choose "donate now" on this website and place "Patroba" in the preference box. I will post an update as I have it. Thank you in advance.

**UPDATE** Thank you to all who donated for this cause. We have raised this amount and have sent it to Patroba and Florence. I will post an update when I have it.
